About 4:00 Monday afternoon, an excavating company from Monterey moved equipment to a new job site along State Road 10 west of Culver right on the county line.
As they pulled in at the Marshall-Starke County line, their excavator caught the utility lines, breaking off four electric poles.
REMC linemen were on the job for 4 hours as Indiana State Police re-routed traffic around the downed lines.
