Great American Smoke Out Day Thursday November 15th

November 13, 2012

11/14/12 Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and Tobacco Free Marshall and St. Joseph Counties are encourage residents across the greater Michiana region to use Thursday as their date to quit, or their date to make a plan to quit. By quitting — even for one day — smokers will be taking an important step towards a healthier life – one that can lead to reducing cancer risk.

The free Indiana Tobacco Quitline—1-800-QUIT-NOW—is available 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide tips and counseling on how to quit for any Indiana resident 18 years and older.  For additional assistance, a FREE, six-week tobacco cessation class is scheduled to begin on January 2, 2013 at SJRMC’s Mishawaka campus.  Persons wishing to participate should register through email at saboj@sjrmc.com, by leaving a message at (574) 335-3896, or by visiting the “Classes” section on the SJRMC website at http://www.sjmed.com/classes.
