Railroad Crossing Work on US 31 Scheduled

June 14, 2011

06/15/11  The Indiana Department of Transportation has confirmed that work on the railroad on U.S. 31 south of Plymouth between 13th and 14th Roads will begin  later this month.

The south bound driving lane of traffic has been closed at the crossing because of a portion of a concrete panel on the tracks has developed a large pothole and potholes in the asphalt near the railroad crossing.

INDOT was notified that the railroad’s contractor will be replacing the concrete panel and resurfacing the roadway around the area beginning on Monday, June 20th.  The work is estimated to take about 10 days.

Traffic has been narrowed down to one lane for more than 6 weeks with signs stating road work.
