Demo Continues for River Park Square

March 26, 2013

03/27/13 The demolition work for River Park Square continues to move forward.

The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission recently approved the low bid of Jackson Services to demolish the three structures recently acquired by them.  The project is expected to take a maximum of 60 days to complete but the work is well under way. Last week the two story commercial structure was taken down.

This week visitors on Water and Garro Streets will immediately notice the demolition of both the residential duplex and the commercial strip of retail and service oriented businesses.

The Redevelopment Commission will conduct a special meeting on April 2nd to open bids for the construction of River Park Square.  Construction should be under way by early to mid May and will take most of the summer to complete.

The first phase of the project will include a new Farmers’ Market area of Water Street, the entrance area to the park near Water and Garro, the construction of a building that will house restrooms, storage, concession area and possible skate rental for a future ice skating rink.
