Suspects in Subway Robbery Apprehended by City Officers

10/11/11 The Subway Restaurant at the corner of North Michigan and Jefferson Streets was robbed Monday afternoon.

At 1:43 P.M. the Plymouth Police Department received a 9-1-1 call saying the store had been robber.  The caller said the suspect left northbound on Michigan Street in a red Ford Range that was occupied by a male and female.

Corporal Ray West and Patrolman Nick Young located that vehicle at approximately 1635 North Michigan Street at which time Officer Young attempted to stop the vehicle.  The vehicle fled the scene and continued north bound.  Officer West saw the suspects throw a ski mask from the vehicle near the Ponderosa. The suspect vehicle took the on ramp to US 30 west bound with officers in pursuit.  The vehicle was stopped on US 30 at the overpass over Western Avenue.

When the vehicle stopped the suspects exited the vehicle and threw some of the money into the air.  Officer Mark Owen was one of the officers attempting to gather the evidence.

The two suspects in this robbery were identified as 29 year old Richard Allen Gill who had a last known address of Florida and 38 year old Leslie Anne Cesavice from South Bend.

Mr. Gill was lodged in the Marshall County Jail with charges of robbery and resisting law enforcement.

Ms. Cesavice was lodged in the County Jail with charges of assisting with a robbery and resisting law enforcement.

The case will be turned into the Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible additional charges.

Plymouth Police were assisted in the traffic stop by officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
