12/03/13 The Plymouth School Board has scheduled a public hearing to discuss and receive public input concerning the contract for Superintendent Daniel Tyree on Tuesday, December 3 at 6:30 P.M. in the Administration Board Room on Berkley St. in Plymouth.
Immediately following the hearing, the Board will convene for a regularly scheduled meeting on or near 7:00 P.M.
Indiana law (IC 20-26-5-4-3 ©) requires a public hearing for any superintendent contract, whether or not there is a change. The contract being considered on Dec.3 for Tyree will be a rollover contract.
The Board is required to post the superintendent contract on its corporation website.
The superintendent’s contract approved in November of 2012 contained the following: Annual Basic Salary, $108,432; Annuity, $6.500; VEBA, $2,331; Gasoline Allowance, $3,000; Annual Board Contribution to Group Health/Dental/ Vision Insurance Program, $18,707; and Association Memberships, $800. Benefits are now listed as a total of $43,879.
The Board evaluation for the superintendent process consists of each individual Board member completing a rubric with several different categories and rating as the following: highly effective, effective, improvement necessary, or ineffective. The Board then meets in an executive session to discuss the various components and determine the final evaluation document.
Agenda items for the regular monthly meeting include: Consideration of Corporation Strategic Plan; consideration of edit to Plymouth High School Students Handbook; Administrative Guidelines; and consideration of
Administration Salaries and Benefits. Additionally, the Board will hear reports on ACT/SAT Scores; a follow-up report on previous graduating class; and Riverside Intermediate and Lincoln Junior High School ISTEP scores. They Board is also expected to consider a contract for the installation of a CCTV Security System that will cover all of the buildings within the school system.
Meetings are open to the public; however, comments from the audience are restricted to agenda items only.
