Donnelly Pleased State of Emergency Extended to Provide Propane Relief for Hoosiers

March 1, 2014

03/03/14 Senator Joe Donnelly welcomed the announcement that a state of emergency in Indiana has been extended until March 15 to allow propane deliveries to continue without limitations or disruptions.

“As extremely cold weather continues to cause shortages and interruptions in the availability and delivery of propane, I’m pleased that a state of emergency has been extended in Indiana until mid-March,” said Senator Donnelly. “This will help provide relief for Hoosier families, businesses and farmers who desperately need propane to heat their homes and keep their farms and businesses running.”

Earlier this month, Senator Donnelly joined a group of 29 senators from both parties in writing a letter to President Obama asking him to facilitate and enable the transportation of propane to areas with shortages. See a copy of the letter here.
