Call Out for 2012 Senior Classic Games

  05/25/12 Calling all senior citizens!!! Scott Michel of the Plymouth Park Department and Anna Corbett of Miller’s Senior Living Community are pleased to announce that it is time for the 2012 Senior Classic Games.  The games are open to any senior man or woman.  The games will be held in Plymouth’s Centennial Park and participating sports businesses July 1 – 5, 2012.

Michel states the mission of the Centennial Park Senior Classic Games is to “offer a community program embracing healthy lifestyles for adults 50 years of age and older through fitness and sport”. Corbett encouragess seniors to sign-up for the different events which include a three mile bike race, doubles and singles tennis, shuffle board, bowling, men and women’s golf, a basketball free throw contest and a cornhole contest.

Closing ceremonies including the presentation of gold, silver and bronze medals is scheduled for Thursday, July 5 at 8:00 p.m. at the Young Amphitheatre.  The Sentimental Journey’s of Bourbon will end the event with a concert of big band music.

Participation fee is $10.00 per event.  Each participant will receive an official Classic Games t-shirt.  Those interested in participating may pick up a Senior Games Brochure at The Plymouth Park Department, Miller’s Senior Living Community, People’s Drug Store, LaFree Therapy, Tri-way Golf Course, Quick’s Bowling Lanes WTCA Radio Station, or Yoder’s Sport Shop.  For more information call Scott Michel 745-936-7255 or Anna Corbett at 574-936-9801.
