Culver School to Participate in Summer Food Service Program

  05/14/13 The Culver Community School, Monday announced plans to participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).  Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under and to persons over 18 years who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.  Free meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children.  There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.

The Summer Food Service Program for Children was created to serve nutritious meals to children when the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program meals are not available.  To ensure all children receive proper nutrition throughout the year, SFSP reimburses organizations that prepare and serve meals to eligible children during the summer.

The Culver Community Schools will serve breakfast and lunch at the Culver High School from June 3rd until August 9th from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The former Monterey Elementary School will serve lunch from 12 to 12:30 from June 3rd until July 12th while the Aubbeenaubee Township Community Building will host lunch from 11:30 to 12:30 June 3rd through July 26th, and the Ora Gospel Chapel Church will serve lunch June 4th until June 28th from 12:15 to 12:45.   All sites will be closed July 4th and 5th.

Adults may eat with children at a cost of $1.50 for breakfast and $3 for lunch.
