Shamrock Homes in Plymouth Out of Business

March 16, 2011

03/17/11 Shamrock Homes on Markley Drive has been a fixture in the Plymouth community since 1969.  On Wednesday they announced that they have gone out of business.

Begun by Pat and Kay Flynn in 1969 and transferred to their children in the 1980’s, Shamrock was an industry leader in the manufacture of HUD and various state Modular code homes.

The Flynn family had been constructing quality Shamrock Homes for more than 40 years. The times and housing trends had changed over the years, but Shamrock’s quality hadn’t. Shamrock had offered the quality, flexibility and service you would have expected from a family owned business.

In their heyday Shamrock Homes had a staff of approximately 70 employees.  During the past couple of years their staff had been reduced to 30 or so.  This week there were 5 office personnel and about 25 shop workers who have been on layoff that were notified of the decision to close.

The current management team is saddened to make this announcement and is hopeful that the businesses in the local area will consider hiring their dedicated and currently unemployed staff.
