Deputy Cooper Makes Weekend Arrests

11/22/11 On Saturday, November 19th at 10:50 p.m. Patrolman Brandon Cooper of the Marshall County Police Department stopped to assist a disabled motorist at the intersection of US 31 and 12th Road.  During the process, it was discovered that the driver, Joshua D. Emerson 25, of Peru was in possession of a scheduled 3 controlled substance without a prescription.  He was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail with a $1,000.00 cash bond.  Emerson is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on December 27th at 8:30 a.m.

On Sunday, November 20th at 2:03 a.m. Patrolman Cooper conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Michigan Road and Jackson Heights Road for an equipment violation.  During the investigation it was determined that the driver, Miguel Torres 25, of Indianapolis was operating the vehicle without a license.  Mr. Torres was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in with a $250.00 cash bond, which was paid at 3:15 a.m. on the same date.  Torres is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on December 27th at 8:30am.
