County Police Make Arrests

07/25/11 On Thursday July 14th at around 7:33am, Marshall County Police Department received a complaint in reference to a criminal mischief that had been done to a vehicle on SR 17 near SR 110.  It was found that an unknown suspect threw a large rock through the driver’s window, and kicked a dent in the driver’s door.

During the overnight hours of Thursday July 14th and Friday July 15th, unknown subjects stole 51 vehicle rims from Hundt’s Auto Salvage located at 13600 5C Road.  Please contact Marshall County Police Department with information either of these cases at 574-936-3187.

On Friday, July 15th at approximately 9:45pm Officer Travis O’Neal of the Marshall County Police Department made traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on S.R. 17 and 19B Road.  During the traffic stop it was found that the driver, Craig J. Coad, 30, of Monterey had a suspended license.  Coad was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for Driving While Suspended-Prior with a prior charge.   His $1500.00 cash bond was paid on July 16th at 12:00pm. He has a scheduled court appearance in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on August 23rd at 8:30am.

Patrolman Bryant made an arrest several minutes later at 10:15 pm at the intersection of 12th and Maple Roads as a routine traffic stop.  It was found that the driver, Andrew D. Ginther, 28, of Plymouth was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior. A Probable Cause was read to Ginther on July 16th at 6:30pm, and he was given a $1,000.00 cash bond which was paid on July 17th at 1:35 pm.  He has a scheduled Court appearance on August 2nd at 8:30am in Marshall County Superior Court #2.

On Saturday, July 16, at around 6:40 pm, Officer Bryant, with the assist of Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of US 30 just east of Oak Road.  The driver, Daniel Bicknell 36, of Plymouth was found to be intoxicated and was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for Operating While Intoxicated with a BAC of .15% or more.  He was given a $1,000.00 cash bond.  Bicknell is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on July 26th at 8:30am.

On Sunday, July 17th at approximately 3:50 pm the Dollar General Store located on US 31 in LaPaz reported that a 1997 GMC Jimmy, red in color with a male and a female had allegedly stolen a bag of ice from the store.  Officer Les McFarland located the vehicle with the driver who was later identified as Christina M. Kasznia 31, of Plymouth.  Kaszinia denied stealing the bag of ice.  During the investigation it was believed that she was under the influence of a controlled substance.  Officer McFarland obtained consent to search the vehicle and a small amount of marijuana was recovered along with drug paraphernalia.  Kaszinia had agreed to a chemical test and was transported to St. Joseph Regional Hospital for a chemical test.  She was then arrested for possession of Marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor along with Operating a Vehicle with a controlled substance.  Kaszinia was lodged at the Marshall County Jail with a $1000.00 cash bond, which was paid on July 18th at 1:45 am.  She has a cheduled court appearance in Marshall County Superior Court #2 will be on August 9th at 8:30am.
