09/11/13 During the September meeting of the Plymouth Park Board, Superintendent Mike Hite told members the trees planted in the South Gateway Project are “looking like they might not make it.”
The trees, Honey locus were planted in planters that have about two feet of soil on top of crushed limestone. Hite said the park employees watered the trees and Schlossers, the landscapers also made sure the trees received enough water to become well established.
Scholssers is will to replace the trees and Superintendent Hite has asked the City’s Urban Tree & Flower Committee to recommend a list of replacement trees for the area.
Hite said, “We are still working on a solution.”
