Driver Swerves to Miss Dog, Hit Street Lights

April 11, 2012

04/12/12 Plymouth Police Officer Wally Derifield investigated a single vehicle accident last Thursday morning just before 3 A.M. on South Michigan Street.

20 year old Michael Rodriguez of Holloway Drive in Plymouth told Officer Derifield he was traveling on South Michigan Road and at the intersection with Nursery Street a dog ran out in front of the 1991 Chevy Camaro.  Rodriguez swerved to miss the dog, causing him to cross Michigan Street and drive into the tree lawn of the east side.  The vehicle struck two city street lights and two trash containers.

Rodriguez’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Lyons Towing due to the damage it sustained.

No injuries were reported and damages were estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500
