Residents at Miller’s Enjoy Home-Grown Strawberries

June 18, 2012

06/19/12 Residents at Miller’s Senior Living Community were given a nice gift over the weekend – a flat of home-grown, hand-picked strawberries from Michigan.   Gladys Umbaugh’s nephew, David Buchanan came to visit and he always brings her a little treat.  On this visit he brought enough to share with everyone.

The old adage that “too many cooks spoil the broth” is not true.  Gladys and her friends gathered in the facilityRecreationCenteron Wednesday morning to clean the strawberries and prepare the shortcake.  Later that same day all residents were invited to join of the back porch for delicious homemade strawberry shortcake.  Several family members were fortunate enough to be included.  Volunteer Dixie Wilkinson helped serve the yummy treat.
