Mayor Senter appoints Surrisi as City Attorney

01/31/12 Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter announced today the appointment of Sean Surrisi as City Attorney for the City of Plymouth.  Sean will replace Nelson Chipman who has accepted the appointment of Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney forMarshallCounty.  He will be sworn in on March 1, 2012.

Sean was born inIndianapolisand moved to the Culver area when he was 11.  He is a 1995 graduate ofCulverCommunityHigh Schooland a 1999 graduate ofDePauwUniversitywhere he majored in Studio Art.  Sean went on to receive his law degree atValparaisoUniversityin 2005.

Sean has worked in his family restaurant, The Edgewater Grille, for several years as the kitchen supervisor and also owned JS Surrisi Gallery, a Culver based art gallery featuringIndianaartists, from 2001 to 2003.

Sean has worked the last six years as an associate attorney for Anderson, Agostino and Keller inSouth   Bendwhere he pursued a diverse workload of civil litigation and transactional matters with an emphasis on insurance coverage disputes.  As part of a twelve attorney firm, he handled a wide variety of other civil cases, including work on behalf of some governmental units withinSt.   JosephCounty.

Sean is married to his high school sweetheart, Janette, and they have a daughter, Abby, an 8th grader atCulverMiddle School.
