City Police Officers Make Arrests

10/12/10 On Tuesday, October 5th at 10:39 PM Officer Bridget Hite with the Plymouth Police Department responded to the Plymouth Wal-Mart in reference to a male subject attempting to exchange a pair of pants for cash.  He was advised that they couldn’t be returned because the employee believed that they been stolen earlier that day.  Later that night Officer Hite observed Mr. Slone’s vehicle in the Kroger parking lot and decided to speak with him.  While making contact with Daniel B. Slone of Center Street, he stated that he hadn’t taken anything but requested to use the restroom.  Prior to allowing him to go the officer search him and found items in his pants and coat pockets.   Slone was arrested for theft and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in on a $1,000 bond.

On Thursday, October 7th at 9:29 PM Officer Jason Dobbins conducted a traffic stop at Oak Road south of Jefferson Street.  The driver, 65 year old Bruce W. Ford of 12th Road was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC of .15 or more.  Ford was transported to the County Jail and booked on $1,000 bond.

On Friday, October 8th at 3:19 AM Officer Gary Cleveland responded to a 9-1-1 call at 804 West Adams in reference to 25 year old Cathryn Gummalavskas of Cedar Lake who had shattered the glass in the entrance door and entered the home. The victim’s of the residence indicated that had never met the female subject before this incident.   Gummalavskas was taken into custody for residential entry. She was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a $1,000 bond. Gummalavskas was released on Sunday, October 10th at 3:22 PM with no judicial review.

Later that night at 8:54 PM Officer Hite initiated a traffic stop on Marco Salinas of Madison Street after he disregarded a stop sign.  After further investigation it was found that Salinas had never had a driver’s license.  He was taken into custody and transported to the Jail and booked on a $250 bond. Salinas was later released at 10:25 PM after posting his cash bond.

On Saturday, October 9th at 1:57 AM Officer Joe Deisch responded to 1420 West Madison Street in reference to a domestic fight. Upon arriving on the scene Officer Deisch made contact with 22 year old Jeremy L. Watson of Elkhart.  He was found to have two active body attachments out of Elkhart.  Officer Deisch arrested him and transported him to the Jail where he was held for Elkhart County.

Later that afternoon Officer Hite responded to Plymouth Wal-Mart after officers were advised of a male subject who had walked into the store and stated he was heavily armed and wanted money. The male subjected was later identified as 39 year old Todd C. Hite of 12th Road.   He was later located with the help of Officer Dobbins and was arrested for armed robbery, attempted burglary and possession of a controlled substance. Hite was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in on a $20,000 bond.
