Tri Kappa History Walk Scheduled for September 26th

September 22, 2010

09/23/10 The ladies of Tri-Kappa invite you to take a walk back in time and enjoy some history of Plymouth, Indiana with the semi annual History Walk in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Early residents of the area will be represented by actors and family members who will tell the story of what life was like in earlier times.  From activities to costumes, to the portrayal of several of the settlers, it will be time spent learning about how Plymouth was shaped by the people who believed a better life could be found here.

The History Walk will be held on Sunday, September 26th from 4 to 6 p.m. in the older section of Oak Hill Cemetery off of Oak Hill Avenue. Entrance will be on the north side of the cemetery.  Additional parking will be available at Miller’s Assisted Living with shuttle bus service.

A beautiful quilt will be raffled off the day of the walk. It can be seen at the Marshall County Historical Society. Tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10. They can be purchased at the Historical Society, from a Tri-Kappa member, or the day of the History walk.

It is anticipated that the walking tour will take about 45 minutes and the walk is in the cemetery on uneven ground at times.
Proceeds from the History Walk and Quilt Raffle will benefit the Marshall County Historical Society Museum.
