Auto Park in Plymouth Gives 750 Turkeys Away

November 24, 2013

11/25/13 Generosity was in full force Saturday morning at the Auto Park on West Jefferson Street in Plymouth. Their 5th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

Hundreds and hundreds of people lined up for the turkey giveaway.  People actually started lining up about 7 a.m. in the cold and snow to get a free turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner.

While they were waiting in line, live holiday music was provided by local musical group, Amasan.

Martin’s Supermarket donated hot chocolate and donuts for the event and the South Bend Medical Foundation was on hand hosting a blood drive.

The frozen turkeys were piled high in the backs of four pick-up trucks parked in the lot of Auto Park and due to the extremely cold weather there was no fear in them thawing out.

Staff members and their families of the Auto Park handed out 750 turkeys in just about an hours time.
