Tyner Cemetery Tour

  05/20/13 A tour of 5 Polk Township cemeteries is planned for Tuesday, May 21.   There will be a short history on each cemetery and a quick walk through the cemetery.   This event is planned by the Marshall County Genealogical Society with an open invitation to the public.

The event will last from about 5:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. as the Genealogical Society hosts a Progressive Picnic in the Cemeteries of Polk Township:  Immanuel Lutheran, Blissville, Tyner, Barber, Polk Twp./Center.   Drinks and a light five course picnic will be served in the various locations.  At each location a short history of the cemetery will be given and a course of finger foods served

The event will start at Immanuel Lutheran, on Union Road between 6th and 7th Roads at 5:00.  Blissville, off Plymouth-LaPorte Trail near Spruce at 5:45, Tyner, near the United Methodist Church at 6:30, Barber at 7:15, and Polk Twp./Center/Morris on US 6 at 8.

This is not a strictly timed schedule and they may run ahead or behind time.   Any and all are invited to attend.  Reservations are not required, but if you are planning to attend, they’d like to know how much food to prepare. Short of heavy rain or snow, the event will take place as planned.   Maps of Polk twp. will be distributed at the first stop.  Call 36-2306 between 10 – 4 Tuesday -Saturday, ask for Karin.
