02/11/11 Beacon Credit Union presented a generous check in the amount of $2,220.20 to the United Way of Marshall County, fulfilling their corporate pledge for the 2010 campaign. Having just opened a new local branch last fall, this was the first employee campaign by Beacon Credit Union for the United Way of Marshall County. It was an outstanding success that resulted in 100% employee participation! Adding to the success was Beacon’s corporate contribution, which was instrumental in helping the United Way of Marshall County reach its ambitious campaign goal.

Beacon Credit Union was founded in 1931 by a coalition of 75 people who believed that area farmers deserved to have a financial resource to meet their needs. Their simple vision was to provide savings and dependable loan programs, particularly to farmers. Over the past 80 years, Beacon has continued the vision set by its founders to provide financial services and meet the needs of its local member-owners while expanding to include over 45,000 members in Indiana’s towns, cities, and rural areas.
