3 Injured in Sunday Crash at 5A & US 31

  10/30/13  A serious crash on Sunday, October 27th at 12:47 p.m. sent three individuals to the hospital.  Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Giordano responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of US 31 and 5A Road.
  Arriving on the scene it was determined that 37 year old Robert Bristow of Michigan was driving a 2008 Honda Pilot northbound on US 31 approaching the intersection of 5A Road.

  72 year old Martha Hall of Bremen was south bound on US 31 in a 2012 Honda CRV.  As she was preparing to turn left, eastbound onto 5A Road from US 31 she pulled into the path of Mr. Bristow’s vehicle causing the collision.

  Both Martha Hall and her unnamed passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle and according the Marshall County Sheriff’s Departments news release both were airlifted from the scene by MedFlight and flown to Memorial Hospital for serious injuries sustained from the crash.

The unnamed passenger in Robert Bristow vehicle was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Names of the other victims injured in the crash are still being investigated by police.

Assisting at the scene were LaPaz Fire and EMS and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.  Lyons Wrecker Service responded to the scene to assist in the removal of both vehicles due to the extensive damage caused by the accident.
