Argos High School has Co-Valedictorians

Argos High School is proud to announce the Class of 2014 Co-Valedictorian and Salutatorian. 

Benjamin S. Carter, son of Bradley and Michelle Carter, has earned the distinction of being named one of the co-Valedictorian of Argos Jr.-Sr. High’s Class of 2014.  Benjamin has earned a 4.24745454 on a 4.0 scale.

Ben has been active in numerous school organizations and activities during his four years at Argos Jr.-Sr. High School.  He was involved in Choir, Variety shows and Musicals.  He was a member of Argos Business Professionals of America, National Honor Society, Junior Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  He has also served as Class President. Ben participated in basketball and earned Honorable Mention for Indiana Boys Basketball Academic All-State. 

Ben has received the following honors:  American Legion Citizenship Award, High Honor Roll, Academic Excellence Award and Academic Honors Plan.

Ben has received the following scholarships: Grace College Valedictorian Scholarship, Winona Merit Scholarship, Argos High School Class of 1957 Scholarship, Kathy Stults Scholarship, Dollars for Scholars Scholarship.

Ben plans to attend Grace College where he will study Biomedical Engineering (partnership program with Trine University) as well as Applied Physics.  His ultimate goal is to design and engineer orthopedic products for an orthopedic firm.

 

Libby P. Moyer, daughter of Gary and Holly Moyer, has earned the distinction of being named the other co-Valedictorian of Argos High School’s Class of 2014.  Libby has earned a 4.24745902 on a 4.0 scale.

Libby has been active in numerous school organizations and activities during her four years at Argos Jr.-Sr. High School.  She has participated in Choir, Swing Choir, Variety Show, Musicals, National Honor Society, Junior Honor Society, Leo Club, ECO Club, Business Professionals of America, Argos FFA, Forestry Judging and Future Educators in Action. She has participated in basketball and volleyball and earned Honorable Mention for Indiana Girls Basketball Academic All-State. 

Libby has been very active in community and church activities:  She has been a member of 4-H and shown Quarter Horses for sixteen years.   She has volunteered at the Argos Public Library as Summer Children’s Program Assistant as well as other volunteer roles. Libby has also participated in Maxinkuckee Players Summer Musical.

Libby has represented Argos at the Richard Lugar Leadership Symposium and at Hoosiers Girls State.  Libby has earned the following honors:   High Honor Roll, Indiana Top 40 Academic All Star Award, American Legion Post Award Americanism Winner, Academic Excellence Award and Academic Honors Plan.

Libby has received the following scholarships:   Butler University Merit Scholarship, Deans Scholarship, IBCA Marion Crowley Scholarship, John Deere-Gilsinger Scholarship, Cooper Scholarship, Maxinkuckee Players Scholarship, Walter Glaub Scholarship, FEA/Nellie Newhouse Scholarship, Leo Scholarship, FFA Scholarship, Blocker Scholarship, Leeper Scholarship, Sanders Scholarship, Dollars for Scholars Scholarship

Libby plans to attend Butler University where she has been accepted into the University Honors Program.  She plans to major in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law and minor in Strategic Communications.  Her ultimate goal is to become a Prosecuting Attorney and be involved in politics in her community.

 

Amanda L. Middleton, daughter of Doug and Lora Middleton, has earned the distinction of being named the Salutatorian of Argos Jr.-Sr. High’s Class of 2014.  Amanda has earned a 4.22517857 on a 4.0 scale.

Amanda has been active in numerous school organizations and activities during her four years at Argos Jr.-Sr. High School.   She has participated in Variety Shows, Musical, Band, Pep Band, National Honor Society, Junior Honor Society, Leo Club,  Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Quiz Bowl as well as serving as her class Vice President for two years. She also participated in basketball and earned Honorable Mention for Indiana Girls Basketball Academic All-State. 

Amanda has volunteered for various community and church organizations including

Girls Scouts and 4-H Club.   She also has volunteered at the Argos Public Library Book Sale and the Summer Reading Program.

She has represented Argos Schools at Hugh O’Brian Young Leadership (HOBY) Conference and also the Molecular Medicine in Action (MMIA) Conference.

Amanda plans to attend Indiana University and major in Exercise Science.  Her future goals are to become an Orthopedic Surgeon and continue doing mission work.
