Argos Man Arrested for OWI on Controlled Substance

MugSHot_Victor RundbergOn Thursday, July 24, at approximately 1:20 a.m. an officer with the Marshall County Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at Michigan Street near the intersection of Vandalia Street in LaPaz.

During the course of the stop it was determined that the driver, 51 year old Victor Rundberg of Argos was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was detained and later submitted to and failed a certified test. The officer also determined the Rundberg was in possession of a substance believed to be cocaine. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated on Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Rundberg’s bond was set at $1,500 and a court date of August 5, 2014 was set for Superior Court II.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
