PHS Winter Ensemble Advances to State

March 14, 2011

03/15/11 Congratulations to all of the members of the PHS Winter Performance Ensemble including the color guard and drumline.

The team competed at the Indiana Percussion Association state preliminaries at Avon High School on Saturday, and, for the second consecutive season, advanced to the State Finals!  There were thirty groups hoping for a chance to make state finals and Plymouth High School came out near the top of the pack and earned a “seated” position at state finals.  Bryan Ames, PHS Band Director said, “Only the top three schools in each category are given a seated spot at state finals meaning… you get to go at the end of the day after all the other state finalist groups have performed.  This is the highest score and ranking PHS has ever had at this event.”  Last season, they finished 8th place at I.P.A. State Finals.

The Winter Performance Ensemble will compete at the State Finals event this coming Saturday at Ben Davis High School.

Congratulations to all of the students involved in the Winter Performance Ensemble!!!
