12/23/13 The weather outside is certainly frightful and the National Weather Service has had a flood watch in affect for much of Marshall County over the weekend. Rain all day Saturday and melting snow combined with rain snow during the day on Sunday for a wintry mix that made drivers wary of slippery conditions.
Those in Plymouth have learned to watch the Yellow River for flooding in these weather conditions that include precipitation and melting snow. City officials have taken measures designed to mitigate flooding and its affects around Plymouth. With more snow in the forecast residents are watching the river to be prepared for any flooding that may occur. Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter confirms that currently the river is at 8.4 feet with flood-stage at 13 as officials will monitor the weather and the rising river.
