Youth Leadership Marshall County participants learn their “Real Colors”

October 14, 2014

YLMC2014_groupParticipants of the Youth Leadership Marshall County (YLMC) program were able to learn about their “Real Colors” during their last meeting. Patty Keating, LaPorte County Extension Educator, led 11 of the youth through training to identify which color most represented their personality traits out of “Blue,” “Orange,” “Gold,” or “Green.” The youth then worked together to discover the strengths of each color and how to work with people of a different personality. The participants were also able to understand themselves better by discussing what made them unique in their personality color.

Catherine Neese from LaVille said her favorite part of the program was “learning about others and how they think [in relation to the colors assessment].” Breana Poirier from Lincoln Jr. High said, “I liked this program because I learned so much and got to collaborate with others!” When asked what she learned from the program, Claire Heying from Urey Middle School said, “I learned that just because a person has a higher color than the others does not mean that they will have all of the characteristics of that color.”
