The Indiana State Police held an awards and recognition ceremony in Indianapolis this past Wednesday, April 19, 2023. The ceremony publicly recognized the achievements and accomplishments that all too often go without the proper recognition.  Officers were recognized for their dedication, service, bravery, devotion to the department and the citizens of Indiana.

Trooper Kyle Glaze was recognized as the 2022 Trooper of District for the Bremen Post.  This award is given annually to a trooper at each district that personifies integrity, professionalism, and a well-rounded work ethic.  Glaze was selected by his command staff for his dedication, traffic and criminal enforcement, community involvement, and other services performed for the department beyond normal expectations.

Glaze’s efforts in traffic enforcement resulted in him making 472 traffic stops.  His efforts led to the arrest of 91 criminal defendants for 207 criminal charges, 49 of which were felonies.  Glaze and his K9 partner, Zeke, made 58 drug arrests over the course of 2022.  His patrols also led to 18 drivers arrested for operating while intoxicated, making Hoosier roadways safer.  Glaze and Zeke also competed in the DLE K9 Nationals held at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center.  Glaze and Zeke returned as national champions in the Patrol Division.

Glaze lives with his wife and children in St. Joseph County.  He has been a trooper for nearly nine years working the afternoon shift, patrolling primarily in St. Joseph County.
