A high-speed chase on Muckshaw Road on Monday and a short manhunt ended with a Plymouth man being lodged in the Marshall County Jail.

Indiana State Police Trooper, Tyler Vermillion attended to conduct a traffic stop on November 13th at about 9:15 p.m. on Maple Road near 12th Road on a silver 2003 Acura.

The driver of the vehicle was 38-year-old Scott Weaver of West 7th Road in Plymouth.  While Trooper Vermillion was speaking with Weaver he saw drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle.

After numerous requests for Weaver to exit the vehicle, he fled in the vehicle leading Vermillion on a chase.  Trooper Vermillion lost sight of the Acura at one point, but Marshall County Deputies found the car abandoned in a field near Muckshaw and 18 B Road.  Officers began a search of the area and a short time later Weaver walked up to officers canvassing the area and turned himself in.

Scott Weaver was arrested for numerous charges including Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of Paraphernalia, and several drug charges.  He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.  Weaver’s cash bond was paid at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14th and he was released on bond.
