Plymouth Community School Corporation announced Tuesday evening the appointment of Michelle Zentz as the new Principal of Riverside Intermediate. Mrs. Zentz has been an integral part of the Plymouth Community School Corporation, serving in various leadership roles– most recently as the Assistant Principal at Riverside. Her comprehensive approach and attention to detail have been invaluable in maintaining a positive and productive school environment, and we look forward to seeing her lead Riverside to new heights.

“Building upon the foundation of positive relationships and strong partnerships with parents and community members, I am eager to sustain the momentum that Riverside Intermediate has tirelessly worked to achieve. Together, through continued teamwork and dedication, we will reach even greater heights,” Mrs. Zentz shared.

Before her tenure at Riverside Intermediate, Mrs. Zentz served as the Dean of Students at North Miami Elementary School in Denver, IN. In this role, she was responsible for coordinating school testing, leading Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), managing attendance and discipline, organizing case conferences, and more. Her broad range of responsibilities and her ability to handle them efficiently prepared her well for school administration.

Within the Plymouth Community School Corporation, Mrs. Zentz was the 6th Grade Project-Based Learning (PBL) Facilitator from 2018 to 2020. During this period, she also served as a Math Facilitator, collaborated with the PBL team on daily lesson planning, and contributed to the School Improvement Committee and Technology Committee. Additionally, she completed an administrative internship at Riverside Intermediate and Lincoln Junior High (LJH), further honing her leadership skills.

Outside of administrative work, Mrs. Zentz has also spent time in the classroom. She began her career as a 4th Grade Teacher at Central Elementary School, where she taught from 2011 to 2018. She excelled in her role, serving as the RTI Coordinator, Principal Designee, and VEX Robotics Coach. Her early experiences in the classroom provided her with a solid foundation in education and student engagement.

Mrs. Zentz earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Purdue University North Central, before going on to complete her Transition to Teaching program and Master of Arts in Teaching from Bethel University. Furthermore, she obtained her School Administration Licensure from Bethel, equipping her with the knowledge and credentials necessary for her leadership roles.

Under Mrs. Zentz’s leadership, Riverside Intermediate School is poised to continue its tradition of excellence and innovation. We look forward to the positive impact she will have on our students, staff, and community.
